Guidelines for Data Sharing of SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 related data

The Research Council of Norway has signed, together with a large number of other funders, institutions and journals the Statement on Data Sharing in Public Health Emergency.

The RDA Covid-19 work group has formulated recommendations and guidelines for sharing of Covid-19 related data including data format and repository recommendations. You can use the Data Stewardship Wizard to find the recommendations and guidelines relevant for you.

The European commission has published their H2020 SARS-CoV2 Data Management Guidelines and refer to the RDA guidelines.

Ethical and Legal Considerations in addition to the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) Guidelines are provided by the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH).

To assure FAIR data we recommend to deposit the consensus and/or assembled sequence and the raw sequencing data to ENA and in addition the consensus sequence also to (optional).

Human molecular biology data has to be managed under controlled access and should be submitted to the European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA). This includes all sequencing and other molecular biological data of human origin that allow potential identification of the research subject.
